Forbidden City Exhibition
March 8 - September 1, 2014
As part of their Forbidden City exhibition, the Royal Ontario Museum acquired a unique carpet piece, 100% New Zealand Virgin Wool Carpet and hand-tufted in Thailand, for $7000. Urban Fabric is a line of distinctive carpets inspired by the physical layouts of cities around the world.
"We chose to represent the Forbidden City in our collection for its historical and political significance to Beijing and the influence it has had on the urban fabric of the city that has grown around it." - Andrei Zerebecky and Lukasz Kos, graduates of the University of Toronto's Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, and founders of Four O Nine.
